In the captivating world of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, not all encounters involve hostile creatures. Early in Act One, within the Flying Waters area, you’ll stumble upon a peculiar Nevron known as the Demineur. This white, floating being is distressed, having lost its precious mine. While your first instinct might be to attack, holding back and helping this creature will lead to a valuable early-game reward.
Here’s a step-by-step guide on where to find the Demineur’s missing mine:
1. Finding the Demineur:
- Progress through the Flying Waters area until you reach the Noco’s Hut expedition flag.
- Instead of heading left to continue the main path, turn back and go through the large opening at the rear of the area.
- You’ll find the white Demineur floating alone in this minefield. Crucially, do not attack it!
2. Locating the Missing Mine:
- Facing the Demineur, look to your right.
- You’ll spot a series of rock platforms across a chasm. Jump across these to reach the platform on the other side.
- Once on the other side, look to your right again. You should see a purple glowing item in the distance on another ledge.
- Carefully hop across the remaining rocks and ledges to reach the purple item.
- Interact with it to collect the Demineur’s mine.
3. Returning the Mine and Claiming Your Reward:
- Jump down from the ledge where you found the mine and head back up the original path towards the cave opening where you first encountered the Demineur.
- Interact with the Demineur again.
- Select the “Hey, hold this” dialogue option to retrieve the mine.
As a reward for your kindness, the Demineur will gift you Lune’s Deminerim, a potent weapon that deals lightning damage and scales with your Luck stat. This weapon also boasts valuable inherent skills that can reduce the AP cost of lightning skills and boost their damage when upgraded.
Optional Encounters After Returning to the Mine:
Once you’ve returned to the mine and received your reward, you’ll have the option to fight the Demineur if you wish. This Nevron employs lightning spells and ranged attacks, both of which are relatively simple to dodge. Just like regular Demineurs, you can also detonate its mine using free aim.
Defeating it will grant you three Colors of Lumina and one Chroma Catalyst, though these are fairly common resources throughout the game.
