Cruise, who is always in action films, is known for not using CGI for his physical work, which can put people in danger. Even though trained Navy pilots were flying the jets in Maverick, Cruise was still going around in an F-18 Super Hornet, which is pretty amazing when you think about how long it had been since the first movie.
