On December 28, 2023, the community of West Greenwich was saddened by the unexpected passing of Carin Renee Corcoran at the age of 48. Carin, born on November 22, 1975, in Warwick, was the beloved wife of the late Christopher M. Corcoran for 19 years. Her devoted parents, Raymond Vincent and Joyce Carin (Ricci) Letourneau of Exeter, are left to cherish her memory.
Educational Excellence and Professional Impact
Carin was a dedicated and accomplished individual, graduating from Exeter-West Greenwich High School in 1993. She continued her pursuit of knowledge, earning a Bachelor’s Degree from Rhode Island College in 1997, focusing on elementary and special education. Carin’s passion for education led her to a fulfilling career as a first-grade teacher at Wawaloam School. Her positive impact on her students resonated since joining the school district in 1999. Additionally, she contributed to GEMS-Net at the University of Rhode Island, showcasing her commitment to the state’s education system.
Community Involvement and Coaching Legacy
Beyond her professional life, Carin was actively involved in extracurricular activities. She coached the Exeter-West Greenwich Girls Junior High School Soccer Team, imparting her love for the sport and nurturing young athletes. Carin also found joy in tutoring and supporting students in their academic pursuits. Her dedication to education, community, and her students made her a beloved and respected figure.
Family, Friendship, and Joyful Memories
Carin’s family was of utmost importance to her. She was a caring sister to Christopher R. Letourneau and Caitlin R. Blake, a beloved aunt, and a loving companion to Thomas Quackenbush Jr. Her upbeat personality brought joy to all who knew her. Carin enjoyed escape rooms, co-owning Friends with Fairy Dust, and cherished family vacations, especially those to Mystic, Santa’s Village, Disney World, and Disneyland.

In honoring Carin’s vibrant spirit, a visitation with an urn present is scheduled for January 7, 2024, from 4-8 pm at Fagan-Quinn Funeral Home in North Kingstown. A Celebration of Carin’s Life will follow on January 8, 2024, at 11 am at the same venue, with burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, North Kingstown.
Instead of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Kayla Jean Ricci Memorial Foundation or the Exeter-West Greenwich Youth Soccer Association, reflecting Carin’s passion for supporting her community.
Carin’s love for living in the moment and the magic of Disney is honored with a unique request: attendees are encouraged to wear something Disney, purple, or bright colored.
