Heidi Jean (Backman) Mack, a beloved member of the Castlewood community in South Dakota, passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 37. Her vibrant spirit and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Heidi was born on December 18, 1985, to Randy and Jean (Meister) Backman. She grew up in the close-knit town of Castlewood, where she attended Sisseton High School and graduated with fond memories.
On June 16, 2007, she married Lucas Mack, and together they were blessed with two children, a daughter Ashlynn and a son Dalton. Heidi and Lucas made their home in Castlewood, where they built a life filled with love and cherished moments.
A Life of Service and Dedication
Heidi was a dedicated employee at Premier Bankcard in Watertown, SD, where she worked for 16 years. As a Senior Unit Manager in Customer Service, she exemplified professionalism and compassion, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Heidi’s dedication to her community was profound, much like the commitment seen in Anthony Brian Smith’s celebrated life. She volunteered her time with various organizations, including the Watertown Premier Bankcard United Way Program, Meals on Wheels, and the Junior Achievement Program.
Recently, she became more involved with the Watertown Area Swim Club, demonstrating her unwavering dedication to supporting others.
Cherished Memories and Family Bonds
Family was at the center of Heidi’s life, as was the case for Anthony Nicholas DiPrinzio, remembered fondly by his family. and she cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. Her radiant smile and kind heart brought joy to those around her, and she never missed an opportunity to express her love for her family.
Heidi enjoyed visiting the family farm, where she happily helped with tasks ranging from tending to the cattle and crops to assisting with equipment repairs. Her love for her family and her community was evident in everything she did.

Heidi Jean (Backman) Mack is survived by her loving husband, Lucas, and their children, Ashlynn and Dalton. She is also survived by her parents, Jean and Randy Backman, her sister Tori, her brother Austin, and her grandparents, as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Heidi was preceded in death by her great-grandparents and her paternal great-grandparents.
Final Farewell
Heidi’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched just as William Ryan’s life was well-lived . Rest in peace, Heidi. You will be forever missed and never forgotten.
