Mario Lopez is an actor and TV figure who became famous on “Saved by the Bell.” He has been one of the most recognizable faces in Hollywood for a long time. The actor and TV host has set some pretty big goals for himself for 2023. One of them is to stay healthy and fit.
The cute boy from the 1990s got into shape to deal with some problems he had as a child. As of today, we’re going to check in on him and see what workouts he does to stay fit at age 49.
Mario Lopez Health Report
Mario Lopez said in an interview that when he was young, his stomach wasn’t fully formed, so his body couldn’t break down food. He lost half of his body weight because of this.
“I was very sick. I was about to die. The priest blessed me. I was sick to the point where I couldn’t hold on to any food or fluids. I couldn’t throw up. I lost fifty percent of my weight.”
Lopez’s father took him to Bruja, a Mexican witch doctor, after this embarrassing event. Bruja fed him a mixture of carnation milk, which helped him get better quickly.
After the fact, Lopez said that this event in his life made him believe in alternative medicine, and he often tells this story to other people.

Lopez told Men’s Health that he started Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to stay in shape and learn a new skill.
What is Brazilian jiu-jitsu?
If you don’t know, jiu-jitsu is a combat sport and self-defense martial art that is built on grappling, submitting, and fighting on the ground.
In Lopez’s words,
“It instills such a great work ethic and confidence and physical toughness, as well as emotional, psychological toughness, and a lot of confidence. So I love all those things and all those attributes and it’s taught”.
He also said that he likes to do yoga and sometimes goes to spinning classes with his wife Courtney Mazza.
Besides the games and workouts listed above, Lopez also loves boxing, lifting weights, and wrestling. This is what the Access Daily host also said:
“I think your health should be a top priority, because if you don’t have that, what does anything else matter? I want to just be healthy and be around as long as I can, to be able to be there for my family. It’s a lifestyle, really.
It’s allowed me to handle this insane schedule at my age, and to have a lot of energy, like right now I’m going from the gym to Access Daily. And that’s a talk show, viewers want to see people who are happy and excited, and at the moment we have a lot of guests, so I can’t be low energy.”
Mario Lopez looks great now that he works out regularly. It may seem completely crazy to see Mario Lopez in such bad shape after being the center of attention for thirty years.
His early health problems and his love of jiu-jitsu, on the other hand, have helped him get better and taught him the discipline and duty to stay in high shape.
In conclusion
Mario Lopez’s journey from childhood health struggles to his disciplined fitness routine today is truly inspiring. Overcoming challenges and embracing a holistic approach to health, including Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, yoga, and more, he exemplifies the importance of prioritizing well-being and maintaining a healthy lifestyle for longevity and happiness.
