Record-Breaking Performance: Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Raises the Bar

When Porsche saw the Model S Plaid and Lucid Air Sapphire, they knew they had to come out with a new top-of-the-line Taycan. You can now officially build your own new Porsche Taycan Turbo GT.

This car starts at $231,995 in the U.S., and that’s with or without the extra Weissach package. This is in the example we came up with, but we think many buyers won’t like the fixed rear wing and lack of back seats.

The Taycan Turbo GT starts at $231,995 in the U.S., whether you choose the Weissach package or not. This package comes with our imagined blue version further below, but we think that the fixed rear wing and lack of rear seats will turn off many potential buyers.

However, Porsche will also entertain your craziest ideas—though we think it might err on the tacky side—with a range of color wraps and decals that cost $11,400 and $1,200, respectively.

The car comes in six basic shades and colors. Like other Porsche models, it can also be painted with the Paint to Sample or Paint to Sample Plus programs, which cost $13,150 and $30,020, respectively.

You can choose from a single 21-inch forged wheel that is finished in Brilliant Silver, Satin Black, or Satin Neodyme in bronze. There aren’t many choices for the inside because all models come with the black GT Interior Package with Race-Tex materials. You can also choose black leather/Race-Tex with silver or blue stitching as an extra. Additional reviews of Porsche on twitter.

A smoking package, a Bose surround sound system, aluminum pedals, lighted door sill guards, and a fire extinguisher are some of the extras that can be added.

The Taycan Turbo GT doesn’t have a tri-motor system like the Model S Plaid and Air Sapphire. Instead, it has an improved dual-motor setup. Most of the time, it makes 777 hp, but with launch control, it goes up to 1,019 hp and peaks at 1,092 hp for two seconds.

And with the Weissach package, it can reach 60 mph (96 km/h) in 2.1 seconds. Its top speed is 190 mph (306 km/h).
