Insider Gaming can confirm that the leaked PS5 Pro specs are real, and the PlayStation 5 is still likely to come out around the holidays of 2024.
According to sources who did not want to be named because they were not authorized to talk about business plans, the Moore’s Law is Dead YouTube channel documentation that was leaked is real, even though the leaker and the leaked specs have been criticized.
You can be sure that the documents that were leaked come from a PlayStation developer portal that was sent to more third-party devs this week.
I told Key to Gaming in early 2023 that the PS5 Pro has the codename “Trinity” and will aim for better and more steady FPS at 4K resolution, a new “performance mode” for 8K resolution, and faster ray tracing. It was also said that Trinity would have 30 WGP and 18000mts of RAM.
The papers that were leaked today also confirmed:
- Rendering 45% faster than PS5
- 2-3x Ray-tracing (x4 in some cases)
- 33.5 Teraflops
- PSSR (PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution Upscaling) upscaling/antialiasing solution
- Support for resolutions up to 8K is planned for future SDK version
- Custom machine learning architecture
- AI Accelerator, supporting 300 TOPS of 8 bit computation / 67 TFLOPS of 16-bit floating point
Insider Gaming was also given documents from the developer portal on the condition that they weren’t shared publicly or privately. These documents confirm that first-party studios have had access to Devkits since September 2023 and third-party studios have had access to them since January 2024.
Starting in the spring of 2024, Testkits will also be available, which will be exact copies of the final product. Insider Gaming has learned that the PS5 Pro is currently looking for a possible holiday 2024 release date. However, the date could be changed since there aren’t many first-party PlayStation 5 games coming out this year.

Twitter Reactions:
PS5 Pro, PS5 Amateur, PS5 Connoisseur… whatever gives the VG hardware market any kind of boost or excitement this year I'm all for.
A Pro won't move huge quantities, but would boost avg selling prices and sell enough to the enthusiast market to help at minimum slow declines.

Many rumors and speculation about the next #Playstation5, a potential candidate name as #PS5Pro.It seems the console will be at least a 45% faster for rendering and 3X faster for ray-tracing perfs than current generation 🤞.

I don't want a PS5 Pro. Right now, a more powerful video game console is not what the gaming industry needs, especially when developers have only recently started to really take advantage of what current-gen systems offer. https://t.co/89oV4ZhiyX
