Apple released an iOS 17.4.1 on Thursday, more than two weeks after the company pushed out an iOS 17.4. While iOS 17.4 delivers new features to your iPhone, including new Stolen Device Protection options and transcripts in Podcasts, iOS 17.4.1 delivers a handful of security and bug fixes to your iPhone.
To download the update, go to Settings > General > Software Update, tap Update Now and follow the onscreen prompts.
“This update provides important bug fixes and security updates and is recommended for all users,” wrote Apple in the update’s description. The screenshot by Zach McAuliffe/CNET Apple did not specify what the update fixed. Usually, Apple publishes a release note of an update and CVE entries online after a short period of pushing an update.
Apple hasn’t posted this information as of yet, but Apple has previously told CNET that it could take some time for this information to be posted on the web.
