Kate Ritchie has responded to the wild rumors that she is dating Aussie F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo. The former Home and Away star addressed the speculation on Fitzy & Wippa with Kate Ritchie on Nova 96.9 after it was raised by her co-hosts Ryan ‘Fitzy’ Fitzgerald and Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli.
To Kate’s bemusement, she and Daniel are linked, and the rumor mill with the supposed “chemistry” between the pair—especially given he has a girlfriend, Heidi Berger. Heidi is a model, with connections to F1 from within the sport, as her dad is Gerhard Berger, former champion driver.
The presenter and actress joked that she didn’t think Heidi would approve of the speculation.

“To be honest, I thought Daniel Ricciardo seemed a little distracted on the track and I thought I knew everything,” Fitzy quipped.
“We’re a pretty tight team in here and you kept this from us. Fitz, I feel like we’ve been played for a fool,” Wippa joked.
Kate joked that the photo that was used alongside the article would have Daniel “head over heels” for her after seeing it.
“Really, let’s be honest. I mean, if Daniel didn’t fancy me before, now, when he sees this article, and… he sees on the left hand side a photograph of me in head to toe white linen as if I’m Maggie Tabberer, you will be head over heels,” she joked.
Wippa read the New Idea article, which said Kate and Daniel would make a “great match”, with Kate jokingly agreeing, “I mean, here here!”
Daniel revealed on Fitzy and Wippa in 2022 that he was “in love” with Heidi, telling the hosts, “Yeah mate, I’m in love. I’ve got a good thing going on, so yeah, I’ve got a good balance in life right now.”
