Australian actress Deborra-Lee Furness has recently opened up about her life after separating from Hugh Jackman, her husband of 27 years on September 15, 2023.

In a candid interview with People Magazine during the screening of her latest film, “Force of Nature: The Dry 2,” Furness discussed the personal strength and resilience she has discovered in herself since the split.
She added that her two children, Oscar, 23, and Ava, 18, who she shares with Hugh, are very supportive of her work as an actress and have watched the sequel to The Dry “several times.”
Deborra-Lee also shared that she was very drawn to the film because it features a ” female-driven ensemble of actors.”
“I love playing women that are great role models for younger girls,” she said. “Women are great leaders or women can do this. So, I like to play women who’ve got something to say.”
In an interview with Page Six at the same screening, she shared that she’s been “learning a lot about myself and I’m embracing evolution and growth”.
In addition to her acting career, Furness is not slowing down on her creative pursuits. She revealed plans to work on a new script with Rebecca Rigg, which she aims to direct and act in. This project, set in Australia, promises to bring more intriguing characters to life, possibly extending her role in “The Dry” series.
