Chiefs Injury Report: What Fans Need to Know

There are still a few days until the Kansas City Chiefs play the Los Angeles Chargers, but the team needs to keep an eye on one new injury as the week goes on.

Several sources say that defensive end Mike Danna wasn’t seen during Thursday’s open viewing period. The senior pass rusher wasn’t listed as hurt on Wednesday, the first day of the week. Kansas City’s updated injury report after Thursday’s practice, on the other hand, showed that Danna was not able to play because of a calf issue. The rest of the injury list is below:

  • LB Nick Bolton (back): FP
  • DT Derrick Nnadi (triceps): FP
  • WR Rashee Rice (ankle): FP
  • CB Jaylen Watson (shoulder): FP
  • S Chamarri Conner (heel): FP

Danna hadn’t been on the Chiefs’ injury list since Week 2 until this week. His diagnosis was a quad injury, but he was able to fully participate in all three workouts that week. The Kansas City Chiefs’ former fifth-round pick has been mostly reliable during his time with the team. He has played in 62 regular-season games and 13 playoff games.

Danna is usually a very steady player when it comes to performance, but she has been having a tough start to the 2024–25 season. Over-the-top numbers don’t like his work, even though he has 12 tackles, half a sack, and two quarterback hits in three games.

With a grade of 60.8, Danna got the worst overall grade on Pro Football Focus. He also got the worst grade in the pass rush since 2020, with a grade of 54. ESPN lists his pass rush win rate as the lowest of all qualified edge rushers, even though he faced a low rate of double teams in 2024.
