Video Allegedly Shows NFL Hopeful Davis Abusing Girlfriend After DV History Revealed

After his girlfriend of one month, Ja’Yunna Monae, accused him of punching and strangling her in a video after they broke up over false allegations regarding his prior domestic violence “case with his baby mother,” 22-year-old former Southern University wide receiver and NFL hopeful Quaydarius Davis was arrested for domestic abuse.

Monae posted surveillance footage on her Instagram and X pages on Saturday, April 12. She also claimed that Davis, her lover, had abused her severely and rendered her unconscious. She captioned the minute-long video, saying:

“DOMESTIC VIOLENCE IS NEVER OK. This man choked me until I passed out and peed on myself. He kicked my door down and punched me numerous times all because I didn’t wanna be with him anymore. QUAYDARIUS DAVIS @wakemup2 IS A SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY COLLEGE KID WHO IS ENTERING THE DRAFT THIS YEAR. He lied to me about his case with his babymother and said she lied about him hitting her. He later admitted that he did hit her and put her in the hospital.”

In a similar post on X, she added:

“I’m ok. My downstairs neighbors got cameras and my upstairs neighbors got cameras pointed directly towards my door. Everything is captured… I called the police, my neighbors called the police, and I will be pressing charges. And NO I AM NOT GOING BACK. I’m the one who initiated the break up ‘cause so many red flags were occurring….THANK GOD I’M ALIVE!!! I’M SO GRATEFUL!!”

Ja’Yunna Monae Claps Back At Critics Claiming She ‘Chased’ After Ex Quaydarius Davis’ NFL Check

To critics accusing her of “chasing” Davis’ NFL check, Monae fired off:

“And let me make one thing clear for the weirdo men in the back trying to justify ‘chasing that NFL check.’ Babe, anyone [who] knows me, [knows] I’VE ALWAYS HAD MY OWN. That’s why men be so intimidated when they start [f***ing with] a bi***h like me. [I ain’t] NEVER NEEDED NO MAN BUT GOD!!! I have my OWN BUSINESS, MY OWN HUSTLE, MY OWN CRIB, MY OWN BILLS, MY OWN CREDIT CARDS, MY OWN WHIP, MY OWN MIND.

She went on to inform X users that the purported assault led to Davis’s arrest. She added that she intends to file charges.

WAFB reports that they arrested Davis on Saturday, April 12, and took him to the Tulsa County Jail in Oklahoma. He is accused of strangling battery, domestic violence, and first-degree burglary. His bail amount is $20,000.

According to WAFB, the football team expelled the former SU wide receiver in October 2024 for breaking team rules. It’s unclear which specific rule he broke at this point. But, according to a school representative, he is no longer associated with SU Athletics. With one year of eligibility remaining, the NFL prospect announced on Instagram on April 5 that he was going through the transfer portal.
