Terri Ann Ficca, age 47, of Providence Pike, North Smithfield, passed away on September 24, 2007, at Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket. Her legacy is marked by a life full of adventure, dedication, and a profound impact on those around her.
Early Years and Education
Born in Butler, PA, Terri was the daughter of Dolores (Lefebvre) Ficca and the late Anthony P. Ficca. Having spent most of her life in Woonsocket, Terri graduated from high school in 1978. In 2005, she moved to North Smithfield. Terri earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Outdoor Recreation from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Additionally, she obtained her teaching certificate in Elementary Education from Roger Williams University and was actively pursuing a Master’s Degree in the same field.
Passion for Teaching and Outdoor Activities
Terri’s vibrant spirit is reflected in her role as an elementary school teacher in the Woonsocket School Department. Currently teaching third grade at Globe Park School, she was adored by both students and colleagues. Beyond the classroom, Terri worked for many years at Eastern Mountain Sports, conducting outdoor educational seminars. Her adventurous soul found joy in camping, kayaking, and hiking, even trekking a significant part of the Appalachian Trail.
Community Involvement and Volunteerism
An active volunteer, Terri dedicated her time to training Boy Scouts, coaching Woonsocket Softball for 12 years, and participating in the Globe Park Parent Teacher Association. She was also a proud member of Big Sisters of America. Terri’s love for golf, along with her cherished pets, Talkeetna and Maka, added colorful layers to her dynamic life.

Terri is survived by her mother, Dolores, a sister, Christine Belisle, and her husband Normand, and two brothers, Thomas Ficca with wife Ann Marie, and Anthony Ficca, II with wife Janet. Affectionately known as ‘T,’ she also leaves behind nieces and nephews, Bethany Leduc, Aimee Kenyon, Gary, Melissa, Emily, Robert, and Jacob Ficca.
Funeral Details
Terri’s funeral will be held on September 29, 2007, starting at 9 AM from the Holt Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Blackstone, MA. Calling hours are scheduled for Friday from 4 – 7 PM.
