Over the weekend, a guy from Overland Park was discovered dead in a park in Lawrence.
David Kyle Kempker‘s body was found two days after he was reported missing for the first time on March 22, 2019.
The cause of death for Kyle Kempker, a 53-year-old man from Overland Park, Kansas, was not immediately determined.
Kempker was thought to be missing after police tried to call him but couldn’t reach him during a requested welfare check.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says that at 5:40 p.m. on Sunday, a walker on a trail near Clinton Overlook Park in Lawrence called the police because he thought he saw a body in a heavily wooded area.
When the cops got there, they didn’t see anyone on the trail. But as they went deeper into the woods, they found the body of a guy who turned out to be Kempker.
