The Maryland State Police and Pennsylvania US Senator John Fetterman’s office both say that he and his wife Gisele were in a crash early Sunday morning in Maryland.
Early Sunday morning, just before 8 a.m., police from the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack were called to the area of westbound Interstate 70 at Interstate 68, between Pennsylvania and West Virginia, because of a report of a two-car accident.
A preliminary review by the police found that a Chevrolet Traverse and a Chevrolet Impala were both traveling west on I-70 when the Traverse hit the back of the Impala for no clear reason.
Police found out that the Traverse’s driver was 54-year-old Pennsylvania Senator Fetterman.
The driver of the Impala and a passenger in Fetterman’s car were both taken to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia by ambulance to be checked out.
Fetterman put out a video on X on Monday night in which Gisele thanked everyone for their well wishes and said that the couple was enjoying their 16th wedding anniversary at the time of the crash.
“You may have heard that G and I were in a car accident yesterday.” Thank you all for your good thoughts. He wrote, “It wasn’t the best way to spend our 16th wedding anniversary, but we’re fine and glad to be back in Braddock with our family.”
“You got an F for this anniversary,” she commented.
