Wendell Pierce recently reunited with his former Suits costar Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, sharing his admiration for their evident love and happiness. The actor spoke to PEOPLE at the 2024 Tony Awards in New York City on Sunday, June 16, about his encounter with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex last year.
“When [Meghan] came into town, she got an award last year. I had a chance to say hello and wish her and Prince Harry well, as well as their children,” Pierce shared with PEOPLE. “They look very much in love and were very happy, so that’s the most important thing.”
Reflecting on his time working with Meghan on the popular legal drama Suits, Pierce described the experience as “a blast.” Since the show’s conclusion in 2019, he has reunited with Meghan a few times. “I’ve gotten to see her just a few times since, and we’ve been able to reminisce. We have fond memories of working together,” the Tony Award winner added.

Pierce also commented on the renewed popularity of Suits on Netflix, after the series broke streaming records in 2023. “It did surprise me,” Pierce admitted. “We finished the show almost eight years ago, and so to have this resurgence is pretty amazing.”
Additionally, Pierce teased a possible return to the Suits universe with the upcoming spinoff, Suits L.A., led by Stephen Amell. “Now there’s going to be a new generation of folks to take it over, and I’m sure that some of us will make some cameos. It’s really great to have a resurgence,” he told PEOPLE.
Fans of the series can stream the first eight seasons of Suits on Netflix, with the ninth and final season joining the platform on July 1.
