Wenck Jerry Louis was the beloved husband of Linda Rothmeyer. His cause of death has not been found yet. He was also a father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He died quietly in Concord, California, on Monday, December 4, 2023, at 76.
He was born on June 5, 1947, in Carroll, Iowa. That’s also where he met Linda, the love of his life. They got married soon after and then went to California to start a family.
Jerry worked as a police officer for more than 36 years. He started with the Sheriff’s Department in Carroll, Iowa. Then he moved to California to work for the Rio Vista Police Department and finally the Solano County Sheriff’s Department for the last few years of his career.
His wife Linda, his son Trent of Vacaville, California, his daughter Tiffini (Sean) Hiss of Redwood City, California, his son Tyler (Amy) Wenck of San Luis Obispo, California, and his five grandkids, Jackson Hiss, Cassidy Wenck, Ava Hiss, Edie Wenck, and Siddhartha Wenck, will all miss him.

Before him were his mother, Helen Anne Wenck; his father, Louis C. Wenck; his sister, Diane Eckard; his mother-in-law, Gertrude Rothmeyer; and his father-in-law, Mathias Rothmeyer.
He was laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rio Vista, California, on Tuesday, December 19. After the service, the Rio Vista Police Department, the Solano County Sheriff’s Department, and the Rio Vista Fire Department did one last sweep around the city of Rio Vista. Ultimately, they were buried at Rio Vista’s St. Joseph Cemetery.
