Ed Kallenbach, 69, of Rockford died on September 22, 2024. He was known as “Tishman” or “Big Jule.” Born in Rockford on May 18, 1955, he was the son of Mickey Kallenbach and Aldana (Webster). Dale got married to Angela “Lucy” Rivera on September 29, 1979.
This was the beginning of a lifetime of adventures. Their three kids are Michelle (Andrew) Foor, Alex Kallenbach, and Stacey Kallenbach. With his grandsons Matthew, Nicolas, Emerson, and Anderson Foor, Dale shared his love of making kites, Anna Page Park and looking for the best fall leaves.
Dale’s brothers, Craig (Eva) Kallenbach, Jeff (Sara) Kallenbach, Sue (Joe) Esposito, and Lisa (Roger) Reid, as well as many nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews, will miss him very much. His parents, who he loved, have died.

Dale worked as a self-employed contractor and had several different jobs. For example, he properly installed Brunswick billiard tables all over the country and, during the warmer months, he worked with his father to install swimming pools. Dale found excitement and community in geocaching across the Midwest when he had free time. He also made friends around the world.
Dale liked the puzzle and the actual game of hide-and-seek because they were both hard. Dale learned how to cook and garden when he retired. He spent time in the garden with Alex and brought his famous sandwiches to family and friends. In addition, Dale liked music.

He rarely turned down the chance to play the guitar or go on a date with his wife to a show in the park. Dale liked talking to people the most. All of the connections Dale made, from people he lived with his whole life to people he met on the trails to friends he made over many years, were important to him in a flash.
