Melissa Ann Hardin was born in Springfield, Massachusetts, on January 26, 1972. She died quickly and is remembered with love, warmth, and fond memories. Many loved having her in their lives, and everyone who knew her felt her kindness and giving. Melissa loved connecting with people, which showed in her personal and work life.
She had a big effect on her community as the owner of Dillsboro Steak & Seafood and Ironstone Grill, where she met many people and made lasting connections.

Raymond and Leslie Melaney loved her as a daughter, and Shane Hardin loved her as his wife. Friends and family include her beloved children, Kaley (Tyler) Hardin and Austin (Ashley) Roden, and her cherished grandkids, Anistyn and Sawyer. Michael (Angie) Melaney, Michelle (Lauretta) Kaylor-Melaney, and Raymond (Sharon) Melaney will always love and remember her.
Emma Wolcott and Anna Wolcott, her nieces, and Angie Bishop, her mother-in-law, are also left behind. Melissa also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
The man she married, Kenny Bishop, died before her. Along with her family, Melissa had a special bond with her dog, Charlie Ann.
She was very comforting and happy to be around. All of the people who knew her will remember how kind and generous she was and how many friends she made throughout her life.
On Friday, September 20, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., there will be a memorial service for Melissa at East Fork Church.
