The sudden deaths of Beatrice residents Amy L. (Lieder) McKillip, 43, and Braylee Jessmae McKillip, 13,.
Amy Lieder was born in Greeley, Colorado, on October 22, 1980. Her parents are Loren Lieder and Cindy (Shoop). Amy graduated from Rushville High School in 1999. She then moved to Hay Springs and worked for almost 6 years as a CNA at Pioneer Manor.
Since August 2005, she has lived in Beatrice and worked as a medication aide for the Good Samaritan Society. Her contract runs until 2021. Amy was working at Cedarwood Assisted Living in Fairbury as a medication aide at the time. Her favorite things to do were fish, ride horses, and hang out with friends.
On May 6, 2010, Levi and Amy (Lieder) McKillip had a daughter named Braylee. She went to Beatrice Middle School and ran track while she was in the eighth grade. Braylee liked horseback riding, fishing, camping, roller skating, making crafts, and being a part of 4-H.
Amy’s mother, Cindy Kelley and husband Scott of Rushville; her father, Loren Lieder of Greeley, Colorado; her sister, Misty Pascoe and husband Paul of Lincoln; her niece, Haylee Pascoe; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends will miss her. Austin Raymer, Amy’s son, was stationed at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida, and is now deployed to Al Udied AB in Qatar.
Her grandparents, Roland and Pearl Shoop, Ray and Dolores Kelley, and Hank and Margaret Lieder, died before her. So did her aunts, Ivy Avis, Terri Kelley, Nancy Parmenter, and Carol Weiting. It is not yet known how Amy Killip died or what happened to her.
Levi McKillip, Braylee’s father, lives in Beatrice. Austin Raymer, her brother, is stationed at MacDill AFB in Tampa, Florida, and is currently deployed to Al Udied AB in Qatar. Her grandparents are Cindy and Scott Kelley of Rushville and Loren Lieder of Greeley, Colorado. She also has aunts and uncles living in Chadron, Arizona: Kandi and Steve Eckoff of McCook, Grand Island; Misty and Paul Pascoe of Lincoln; and Mike and Rebecca Edwards of Yutan. Both of her grandparents, Dennis and Irene McKillip, died before her.

A funeral service for both people will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, April 12, 2024, at St. John Lutheran Church in Beatrice. The Rev. Dr. Renae Koehler will lead the service. On the church’s Facebook page, the service will be shown live. On Friday at 2:45 PM, there will be a prayer service for families at the church. No one will be able to visit.
